Maria B. McGreger,
LPC Associate
My Background and Approach
I’m Maria McGreger, a bilingual (Spanish) Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. I’m passionate about providing holistic care tailored to your unique values, beliefs, and needs. I use a blend of approaches to help you understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I have received specialized training in trauma, grief, art, and sand tray therapy. My goal is to give you the tools and insights needed for personal growth and lasting change.
My journey began as an art historian, consultant and educator in museums and galleries, but my passion for helping others led me to merge my love for the arts with mental health counseling. Scientific research shows that artistic expression can play a powerful role in healing from depression, anxiety, and trauma, and I bring this knowledge into my work with clients.
In our sessions, I’ll guide you through creative and therapeutic processes that can enhance memory, reasoning skills, and resilience, particularly for older adults. Art is a universal language that transcends boundaries and offers a powerful means of personal expression and mental health support.
I’m dedicated to staying at the forefront of trauma and mental health treatment, continuously advancing my training to ensure you receive the most effective care.
As a member of the American Counseling Association, American Psychological Association, International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling, American Art Therapy Association, and EMDR International Association, I adhere to the highest standards of professional practice.
It’s a privilege to serve my community and to draw on the valuable experience I’ve gained under the supervision of Jennifer Galske Reid, M.S., L.P.C-S, and Dr. Andrew Brams, PHD, LSSP. I look forward to partnering with you on your healing and personal transformation journey.
About My Clients
I work with individuals of all ages in a safe, open, and nonjudgmental environment, to help them identify their goals and objectives. I facilitate their journey toward fulfillment and well-being through appropriate diagnoses, assessments, and evidence-based treatment interventions, including creative techniques.
I provide high-quality, research-backed, and patient-centered treatments, focused on identifying and resolving the underlying cause rather than just treating the symptoms, allowing clients to achieve their long-term and permanent change they desire.
